The gastronomy of Sanlúcar is renowned worldwide for its two star products: Manzanilla and prawns (langostinos).
Sanlucar de Barrameda has through the centuries, conserved the idiosyncrasy of a country farrning village and at the same time, a fishing village, that has consequently provided its cuisine with the best of both the sea and the land. Nowhere is this cuisine more evident than in the "Bajo de Guia", a typical marine neighbourhood where diners will find well-known restaurants on an intemational level.
Sanlúcar never fails to surprise the visitor with its countless taverns and restaurants situated in its centre and surrounds, famous for serving fish and shellfish from the mouth of the Guadalquivir, and especially, fried fish "pescaitofrito". Above all, there are an abundance of “tapas” on offer, matched perfectly with Manzanilla and other local wines that together make our gastronomy one of the most valued in our country.
Sanlúcar is also well known for its puddings and sweet deserts that are influenced by Arabic and Christian traditions that will delight the palate.
